Okay, so yesterday I tried that new March of the Machine draft thing. Man, it was something else. I jumped right in, not really knowing what to expect, you know?
Getting Started
First off, I gotta say, picking the cards was a trip. There were so many options, and all these abilities I’d never seen before. I started by grabbing a few cards that looked strong on their own. I picked some creatures with decent stats, nothing too fancy.

Building the Deck
Then came the tricky part – making sense of all the different archetypes. This set has a bunch of them, and figuring out which colors worked best together was a real head-scratcher. I tried to focus on two main colors, with a splash of a third for some extra kick. It felt like putting together a puzzle, but a fun one. I ended up with a mix of creatures, spells, and those new “battle” cards. Those battles are wild, by the way.
Playing the Games
- Game 1: I won this one, but it was close. My creatures managed to overpower my opponent’s, but those battles really changed the flow of the game.
- Game 2: This one was a loss. I got mana screwed, which is always a bummer. Couldn’t play half the cards in my hand. Happens to the best of us, right?
- Game 3: Another win. This time I got a better feel for the battles and used them to my advantage. Flipping them and getting those extra effects is pretty sweet.
Wrapping Up
All in all, this March of the Machine draft was a blast. It’s definitely one of the more fun sets I’ve played in a while. There’s just so much going on, so many different ways to build your deck and play. If you haven’t tried it yet, you totally should. Just be prepared for a wild ride, because this set is full of surprises.
