Okay, let’s talk about Jonathan Clauss in FIFA 23. I’ve been messing around with this guy in the game, and I wanted to share my experience.
So, first, I started looking into this player, Jonathan Clauss. He’s a French dude, born in ’92, plays for Olympique de Marseille. In the game, he’s a right-wing back. I noticed his overall rating is 80, not too shabby. And his potential is also 80, so he’s not one of those young guys who will suddenly become a superstar, but he’s solid.

Then I dug a little deeper. Apparently, this guy has 4 special cards. Their ratings go from 83 up to 96. That’s a big jump! I figured out that the best chemistry style for him is “Basic”. Whatever that means. And yeah, he has some special cards in game, such as Futties Premium, Non-Inform, TOTS. I have tried TOTS, it is rated 93.
I started playing some matches with him. I primarily played him in his natural position, right-wing back. The first thing that stood out was his pace. The guy can really run! He’s a good option for those of us who like to play with fast wing-backs who can get up and down the pitch. I mainly used the basic version with an 80 rating. With his speed, I managed to get past defenders and put in some decent crosses. He could quickly get back to defend. He is not as good as Mbapp, who plays as a center forward. It was tough to win the ball with Mbapp, but Clauss did a good job.
I also experimented with his different versions, such as Winter Wildcards card, which is rated 85. His other stats are pretty good, too. His passing is decent enough to play short passes and get out of tight situations. I found that he’s not the best dribbler, so I tried not to do too many fancy moves with him. His real-life stats are 1 goal and 2 assists in 5 matches. And his price on FUT is 23,750. His defending is not bad, either. He’s strong enough to win some tackles, and his positioning is pretty good, too. He is a good defender. I even managed to score a couple of goals with him. Mostly from crosses, because he’s often in the right place at the right time in the box.
I also tried to use his special cards. Futties Premium card, which is rated 96. It is much better than his basic version. The Futties Premium card made him feel like a totally different player. His pace felt even faster, his passing was much more accurate, and his defending felt more solid. But I think basic version is good enough for me, even though its stats are not that good as TOTS or Futties Premium card.
- He’s fast. Like, really fast.
- He’s a good crosser.
- He’s not a great dribbler.
- He’s a solid defender.
- His special cards are a big upgrade, especially the Futties Premium one.
- He can score goals sometimes.
Here’s what I learned from playing with Clauss:
Overall, I enjoyed playing with Jonathan Clauss in FIFA 23. He’s not the best player in the game, but he’s a fun and effective right-wing back. If you’re looking for a pacey player to add to your team, he’s definitely worth checking out.
