So, I’ve been diving deep into Pokemon Go lately, trying to beef up my team, you know? And I got this Gallade, right? Pretty cool Pokemon, but I was totally lost on what moves to give it. After messing around for a while, I think I finally cracked the code on the best moveset for this guy.
First off, I started experimenting with different fast moves. I tried a bunch, but honestly, Psycho Cut ended up being my go-to. Why? It’s all about that energy generation, man. This thing charges up your charged moves like crazy. I tried Confusion, too, which does more damage up front, but trust me, the energy you get from Psycho Cut more than makes up for it in the long run.

I learned that Confusion is the preferred move if you are trying to maximize the damage output.
Then came the charged moves. Now, this was a bit trickier. Initially, I was all about that Psychic. It hits hard and I thought it is the best choice. It is strong, I found it is not the best. I did a bunch of raids and tried some pvp battles with it, and yeah, it’s powerful, but it just takes too long to charge up, even with Psycho Cut. If you are going for a pvp build, Synchronoise could be a good alternative.
I also messed around with some other moves, like Focus Punch, which is a fighting-type move. It could be useful, but you have to charge that one for a long time. It did not really fit my play style.
- Confusion and Psychic: This is it, the bread and butter. This combo has a damage per second (DPS) of around 14.82, and a total damage output (TDO) of about 235.3. These moves get a little boost when it’s windy, too, which is nice.
- False Swipe: Seemed like a good idea at first. It is a normal type move, so I thought that it can be a good neutral attack, but no, it didn’t work out.
- Splash: Now, this is the last move I tried, because it is just a meme.
Finally I just went for Confusion and Psychic. With that, Gallade becomes a real powerhouse. The DPS and TDO are way better. The wind boost is a nice bonus, too.
I also heard some people talking about “hundo” Gallade, which is apparently a Gallade with perfect IVs (individual values). If you’re lucky enough to catch one of those from a raid encounter, it’ll have a CP (combat power) of 1767. That’s pretty beastly!
So yeah, after all that trial and error, I’m pretty confident that Confusion and Psychic is the way to go for Gallade. I learned that Psycho Cut is a good alternative if you want to try pvp. Give it a shot, and let me know what you think. I’m always down to compare notes and see if we can make our Pokemon even stronger!
