Okay, so, I was trying to hop on some Call of Duty the other day, right? Figured I’d get a few rounds in on Modern Warfare 3. I’ve been trying to get this camo, Interstellar, looks so sick, you know? But I was spending time on Hardcore because it is much easier to get the camo in Hardcore. And guess what? I finally got it last night!
Anyway, after I got the Interstellar camo, I wanted to play a few more rounds to enjoy it, then I got hit with this weird “Travis-Rilea” error. I was like, “What the heck is that?” I tried restarting the game a couple of times but, nothing. Still the same error.

So, I did what anyone else would do – I hit up the internet. Turns out, a lot of people have been having this same problem with MW3. Apparently, it’s usually some kind of network issue. Could be on my end, could be on the game’s servers. Most folks online seemed to think it was a server-side problem, especially since it seemed like a ton of players were running into it at the same time. So the problem is more likely an issue with the MW3 or Warzone servers.
Restart the Game and Router
First thing I tried, naturally, was restarting the game. Closed it out completely, and launched it again. Nope, still got the Travis-Rilea error. Alright, fine.
Next, I tried the old “turn it off and on again” trick with my router. Unplugged it, waited about 30 seconds, plugged it back in. Waited for it to fully boot back up, and launched MW3 again.
- Restart the Game:
When I saw this error the first time, I tried to restart the game first, but I failed.
- Restart the Router:
Then, I restarted my router, waited for about 30 seconds to make sure that the connection to the Internet was cut off. After the router restarted, I tried to enter the game again.
And guess what? It worked! I was back in the game, no more error. Seems like, at least in my case, it was just a hiccup with my internet connection. So, if you run into this Travis-Rilea error in MW3, definitely try restarting your router. It’s a simple fix, and it might just do the trick. If not, then you can bet it’s probably a server issue, and all you can do is wait it out. Hope this helps someone else out there!
