Hey everyone, so I’ve been messing around with MLB The Show lately, and I wanted to share my experience with the whole roster update thing. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I think I’ve got the hang of it now.
First off, I found that these roster updates come out like clockwork. Every Friday, around noon Pacific Time, boom, there’s a new one. I started checking every week to see what was new.

So here’s how I got into the actual updating process. I went to the main menu in the game and looked for the “Rosters” section. After I got in there, the game gave me some prompts to download the latest updates from the server. It was easy to follow along.
I also saw that for MLB The Show 25, they’re planning a late March release with early access. That’s something to look forward to!
Here is what I did step by step:
- Launched the game and went straight to the main menu.
- Found and clicked on the “Rosters” section.
- Followed the on-screen instructions to grab the newest update.
- Downloaded the updates directly from the server.
- Made a note that these updates usually drop every Friday at noon Pacific Time.
I spent some time browsing around to see what else I could find about this. The Show has some discussion stuff going on. Like, Evan Phillips is now the relief pitcher for the Dodgers, Kirby Yates is now the closer for the Braves, Blake Treinen is the closer for the Dodgers, and John Schreiber is now a relief pitcher for the Red Sox. These are some of the details you can find in the updates.
And also, I found that there are some new surveys, support stuff, and account details. You can check out the roster updates from April 5, September 15, November 10, and April 29. It’s a good way to keep track of all the changes.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure with MLB The Show’s roster updates. Hope this helps someone out there!
