Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this “Southern Elsweyr Map” thing in The Elder Scrolls Online. It’s part of that Dragonhold DLC, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a ride.
First off, I had to figure out how to even get to Southern Elsweyr. Turns out, you can’t just walk there. Nope, you gotta take a boat. Or, you know, use a wayshrine if you’ve already been there, or teleport to a home there if you’re fancy like that. But for a newbie like me, it was the boat.

Once I landed, I started poking around, trying to get a feel for the place. This area is apparently some old Khajiiti kingdom, and it’s seen better days. There was some nasty plague a while back that messed things up, and then some “purging fire” – whatever that was, it sounds bad.
I stumbled upon this place called the “Forgotten Mane.” It’s like this old monument, south of some temple, Khenarthi’s Breath Temple, I think it was called. There was also this weird rock formation, “Purring Rock.” It was kind of neat, in a desolate, ruined kingdom kind of way.
My main goal, though, was to hunt down these things called Skyshards. They give you skill points, which are super handy. So, I found this interactive map online – super useful, by the way – and started tracking them down. The map had all the locations marked, with screenshots and everything. Made things a heck of a lot easier.
While I was running around, I noticed a bunch of treasure map chests. I heard that they are a good way to get Ancestral motif chapters. For example, you can get the Nord motif from the chests in the Pact zones. I haven’t gotten any yet, but it is exciting to think about.
I also heard some rumors about dragons being in Southern Elsweyr. Haven’t seen any myself yet, but it definitely adds to the whole “dangerous, ruined kingdom” vibe. I’ll keep my eyes peeled, though. Who knows, maybe I’ll get lucky and spot one.
Anyway, that’s where I’m at with this Southern Elsweyr adventure. It’s been a cool experience so far. Lots to explore, lots to find, and apparently, lots of dangers to avoid. I’ll keep at it, though. Gotta get those skill points, and maybe find some cool loot along the way. Wish me luck!
