Alright, so I tried playing Mortal Kombat the other day, and I thought I’d share my experience with you all. It’s been a while since I last played, so I was pretty rusty.
First off, I started by choosing a character. I went with Scorpion, you know, the classic “GET OVER HERE!” guy. I figured he’s a good starting point since he’s so iconic. I also messed around with a few others like Noob Saibot and Mileena, but Scorpion felt the most comfortable to me.

Then I jumped into some matches. I decided to go online to see how I’d fare against other players. Man, was I in for a surprise! I got my butt kicked a few times. It’s tough out there! I realized I need to practice a lot more. Some folks suggested I try Shao Kahn, Raiden, or The Flash, saying they’re the best for online play. I might give them a shot later, but for now, I’m sticking with Scorpion.
I did some digging around and found out that the Mortal Kombat community seems to have a consensus on the top-tier characters. Besides those three, apparently, people also like to use Kabal, Sektor, Rain, and a bunch of others. There’s even a top 20 list with names like Shang Tsung and Reptile. Who knew there were so many characters to choose from?
My Practice Routine
- Warm-up: Started with some basic moves and combos in practice mode.
- Online Matches: Tested my skills against real players. Got defeated a lot, but it was a good learning experience.
- Character Exploration: Tried out different characters to see who I liked best.
- Research: Looked up some tier lists and community discussions to get an idea of the meta.
So yeah, that’s my Mortal Kombat experience so far. I’m still not very good, but I’m having fun, and that’s what counts, right? I’ll keep practicing and maybe one day I’ll be able to hold my own in those online matches. Until then, I’ll just keep getting my butt kicked and learning from my mistakes. “GET OVER HERE!” I say, as I pull myself back into the game for another round.
