Okay, so, I wanted to mess around with my VALORANT settings today. Specifically, I was looking at what k1Ng, you know, the pro player, uses. Figured I’d give it a shot and see how it feels to play like a pro, even if just for a bit.
First thing I did was dig up some info on what settings k1Ng actually uses. Found some stuff online about his setup – his mouse sensitivity, resolution, all that jazz. Seems like a lot of pros go for 800 or 1600 DPI on their mouse, and their in-game sensitivity is usually somewhere between 0.35 and 0.45. And for scoped weapons, most of them keep it at 1.00, which means no change in sensitivity when you’re zoomed in. Resolution-wise, 1920×1080 seems to be the go-to, and playing in full-screen mode is pretty much the standard.

After getting a general idea, I decided to go into my own VALORANT settings. It’s all stored locally on your computer, which is pretty handy. You can find it in your %LOCALAPPDATA% folder, under VALORANT, then Saved, then Config, and then there’s a folder with a bunch of numbers and letters, which I guess is unique to each player.
Now, changing the settings was pretty straightforward. You can either do it manually or use a code. I opted for doing it manually this time. I adjusted my DPI to match what I found for k1Ng, which was within the common range for pros. Then I tweaked my in-game sensitivity to fall somewhere between that 0.35 and 0.45 range. For the scoped sensitivity, I just left it at the default 1.00.
Making the Changes
- Went into the VALORANT settings menu.
- Changed my mouse DPI to 800 (you do this in your mouse software, not in the game).
- Set my in-game sensitivity to 0.4.
- Made sure my scoped sensitivity multiplier was at 1.00.
- Confirmed my resolution was 1920×1080 and that I was in full-screen mode.
After all that, I jumped into a game to see how it felt. Honestly, it took some getting used to. The lower sensitivity means you have to move your mouse more, which felt weird at first. But after a few rounds, I started to see why pros might use these settings. It definitely felt more precise, especially when trying to land those headshots from far away. I played a few more matches, and while I wouldn’t say I suddenly turned into k1Ng, it was a cool experiment. It’s interesting to see how these small adjustments can make a difference in your gameplay.
I don’t know if I’ll stick with these settings forever, but it’s something I might keep playing around with. If you’re curious, I’d say give it a try. Just remember to back up your old settings in case you want to go back. It’s all about finding what works best for you, right?
