Alright, so today I wanted to talk about my little experiment with Litleo, this cute Fire/Normal-type Pokémon that I’ve been trying to figure out the best moveset for. I started messing around with this little guy a while back, because, you know, who doesn’t love a fire lion cub? I mean, he evolves into Pyroar at level 35, which is pretty cool, and it keeps its Fire/Normal typing.
I spent a good chunk of time checking out what other people were saying online, and it seemed like everyone had a different opinion. Some were saying Litleo is great because Fire-type moves are generally powerful, and some said there were better options. It was all over the place! But, I wanted to find out for myself.

I began by testing out different moves in battles. I noticed Litleo has this ability called Moxie, which is pretty neat because it boosts its Attack stat every time it knocks out an opponent. This got me thinking, maybe I could turn this little guy into a sweeper. So, I started playing around with Flame Charge, which not only does damage but also increases Litleo’s Speed. I thought, “Okay, this could work. Get in, hit hard, get faster, and keep hitting!”
- First, I tried pairing Flame Charge with some strong physical moves to take advantage of that Moxie boost.
- Then I played a bunch of battles, tweaking the moveset here and there.
I even tried using some special attacks, since Litleo’s Special Attack is actually higher than its physical Attack. But honestly, the Moxie boost with Flame Charge just seemed to have more potential for sweeping through a team. After a lot of trial and error, the moveset I found to be most effective was a combination of Flame Charge for the speed boost, some strong physical attacks for Moxie to power up, and a good Fire-type special attack just in case.
I also learned that Litleo is weak against some pretty strong Pokémon like Mega Lucario and Shadow Groudon, so I had to be careful about when I sent it out. After all that experimenting, I finally felt like I had a good handle on how to use Litleo effectively. It was a lot of work, but it was also a ton of fun seeing how this little Pokémon could hold its own in battle. I ended up using my Litleo to win many battles. It’s awesome!
So, that’s my experience with Litleo. It might not be the strongest Pokémon out there, but with the right strategy, it can definitely surprise you! I’d love to hear if anyone else has had success with Litleo or if you have any other cool moveset ideas.
