Alright, so I’ve been grinding away in Valorant lately, and it’s that time again—the end of the act. Man, time flies when you’re having fun, right? Anyway, I figured I’d share my experience with this whole end-of-act thing, ’cause it’s a bit of a rollercoaster.
The Grind
First off, let me just say, the grind was real. Every act, I tell myself I’m gonna take it easy, maybe just play for fun, but then I see that shiny Act Rank badge, and I’m like, “Nope, gotta get that.” So I started playing a ton of matches, trying to climb the ranks. Some days were great, felt like I could do no wrong, you know? Other days, not so much. It’s like, one step forward, two steps back. But hey, that’s the game, right?

The Reset
So, the act ends, and boom, your rank gets reset. It’s not a full reset, thankfully. You just gotta play one placement match, and it’s usually pretty close to where you left off. But when a new episode starts, it’s a whole different story. You gotta play five placement matches to get your rank back. It’s kinda stressful, but also exciting, ’cause it’s like a fresh start.
The Badge
Now, about that badge. At the end of the act, you get this Act Rank badge, and it shows up on your player card in competitive games and in your career history. It’s basically a summary of how well you did that act. If you hit Immortal or Radiant, it even shows your leaderboard position, which is pretty cool. It’s like a little trophy for all your hard work.
The Timing
Each act in Valorant lasts about two months, give or take. So, for this one, Episode 9 Act 3, I knew it was ending around January 7th. I kept an eye on the calendar, ’cause I wanted to make sure I got in all my games before the reset. No one likes to leave things unfinished, am I right?
The Aftermath
After the act ends, it’s kind of a chill period. Everyone’s waiting for the new act to start, trying out new agents, messing around with different strategies. It’s a good time to take a break from the competitive grind and just enjoy the game. Plus, you get to show off your new badge, which is always a nice feeling.
The New Beginning
When the new act finally does start, it’s like a whole new world. New battle pass, new rewards, and of course, the rank grind starts all over again. It’s a cycle, but it’s what keeps the game fresh and exciting. I just completed my five placement matches, my rank is back, it’s a bit lower than I expected, so I have to start climbing again.
So, that’s my experience with the end of a Valorant act. It’s a mix of hard work, a little bit of stress, and a whole lot of fun. And hey, even if the grind gets tough, that shiny badge at the end makes it all worth it. Or at least, that’s what I tell myself. Anyway, time to get back in the game. See ya in the next act!
