So I’ve been messing around with Pokemon GO lately, right? It’s pretty fun, but that AR mode, man, it was kind of a hassle for me. I just wanted to catch those little critters without my camera going nuts all the time. And you know what? I finally figured out how to turn the darn thing off!
First, I opened up the app and tapped on that Pok Ball icon at the bottom of the screen. You know, the one that brings up the main menu? Yeah, that one. Then I dove into the settings.

- Found the settings menu – pretty standard stuff.
- Scrolled around a bit – there are a bunch of options in there.
- Spotted something about AR mode – bingo!
Then I tapped on a wild Pokemon to start an encounter. When I entered the capture screen, I noticed a little toggle at the top right corner that said “AR”. I gave that toggle a good tap, and boom! AR mode was off.
It was such a relief! Now I can catch Pokemon without having to wave my phone around like a crazy person. The game still works the same, it’s just a lot less awkward now. I tried a few more encounters, and yep, no more AR. Sweet victory!
Seriously, if you’re not a fan of the AR thing in Pokemon GO, just turn it off. It’s way easier than I thought it would be. I wish I had done it sooner, I would’ve enjoyed it a lot more. So, if you’re like me, just switch it off. Problem solved!
