So, I’ve been grinding away in Pokémon Go lately, and I’ve really been focusing on building up my Nidoking. This guy’s a beast, right? Poison and Ground type, looks intimidating, the whole nine yards. But I wanted to make sure I was using him to his full potential, so I started digging into the best movesets for him.
First thing I did was hit up the usual forums and guides. Gotta see what the community consensus is, you know? And what I found was pretty consistent: Poison Jab and Earthquake are the way to go. Apparently, this combo gives you the highest DPS for gym battles, and it’s also killer in PvP. Makes sense, right? Poison Jab is a fast, reliable attack, and Earthquake just hits like a truck.

But I wasn’t just gonna take their word for it. I needed to see this in action. So, I started using Nidoking in raids. I found out he’s a Tier 3 Raid Boss. Not the toughest, but definitely no pushover. His boss CP is around 17182, and if you manage to catch a perfect one, it’ll be around 1466 CP at Level 20 or 1833 at Level 25. Good to know, right?
Then I started experimenting with different movesets in battles. I tried a bunch of combinations, but the Poison Jab and Earthquake combo just felt the best. It was smooth, it was powerful, and it was getting me wins. Nidoking’s max CP, by the way, is around 2567, so keep that in mind when you’re powering him up.
I also did some research on Nidoking’s weaknesses and resistances. Turns out, he’s weak against Ground, Ice, Psychic, and Water. So, you gotta watch out for those types. But, he’s resistant to Electric, Poison, Bug, Fairy, Fighting, and Rock, which is pretty sweet. Gives him some good coverage.
After using this setup for a while, I can confidently say that it’s the real deal. I’ve been taking down gyms and winning PvP battles more consistently. If you’re looking to beef up your Nidoking, you’ve gotta try this out. Give this moveset a shot, and you’ll see what I mean.
- Main Point: Poison Jab + Earthquake is the best moveset.
- Why?: Highest DPS, great for gyms and PvP.
- Weaknesses: Ground, Ice, Psychic, Water.
- Resistances: Electric, Poison, Bug, Fairy, Fighting, Rock.
My Experience:
I used this moveset, I battled in raids, I experimented, and I won more battles. It worked for me, it should work for you too.
So yeah, that’s my Nidoking story. Hope this helps some of you trainers out there. Go catch ’em all!
