So, I’ve been diving deep into Starfield lately, you know, exploring every nook and cranny of that massive universe. And I got this itch, this craving, for some good old poker. I mean, what’s better than kicking back in a spaceship with a hand of cards, right? I started poking around, wondering if there’s any way to play poker in this game.
First, I hit up the usual spots. I figured, if there’s gambling to be had, it’s gotta be in one of the casinos, right? So I zipped over to The Almagest, which isn’t too far from Alpha Centauri. It’s a cool-looking star station, pretty easy to clear out the low-level enemies there. I rummaged around the place, expecting to stumble upon a hidden poker room or something. But nope, nothing. Not a single card table in sight. It was a bummer, man.
Then I remembered The Red Mile on Porrima III. That place screams gambling. It’s got the whole casino vibe going on. I thought, “This is it, this has to be where I can play some cards.” I rushed over, all excited, and started exploring. They have some gambling stuff, but it’s not poker. No card games, not what I was looking for. What a letdown.
Feeling a bit defeated, I turned to the Starfield community. I figured, someone out there must have figured out a way to play poker in this game. I found a bunch of threads on forums and Reddit, but most people were in the same boat as me. There were some vague ideas, like “maybe someone will create a mod for it,” but nothing concrete. It got me thinking, though. Maybe if someone made a mod that spawned random NPCs to sit and play like in Red Dead, that could work. But that’s just wishful thinking for now.
I even looked at some beginner’s guides, hoping they might have a secret tip about gambling or something, and some other random guides about ships, bases, crafting, and stuff. Nothing about poker, nothing about card games. I mean, they detail every other action you can do in this game, but not a word about cards! It’s driving me crazy!
It is kinda funny, though. I was playing Red Dead Redemption 2 the other day, enjoying their poker minigames, and that’s when it hit me that I wanted the same in Starfield. Go figure.
