Hey everyone, so, I finally got my hands on Armored Core 6, and let me tell you, the download and setup process was a bit of a rollercoaster. I thought I’d share my experience here, just in case anyone else runs into the same hiccups.
First off, I started by initiating the download. The game is pretty hefty, so it took a while. No big deal, I just went off and did other things while it was downloading.

Once the download was finished, I eagerly launched the game, ready to dive into the action. But, surprise, surprise! I was hit with some serious lag and FPS issues. The game was practically unplayable. It felt like I was watching a slideshow rather than playing a game. I was so disappointed. I mean, who wants to play a game that’s all choppy and slow?
Not one to give up easily, I decided to roll up my sleeves and do some troubleshooting. My first instinct was to restart my PC. You know, the classic turn-it-off-and-on-again trick. I shut down my system, unplugged the cable, and gave it a few minutes to chill. Then, I plugged everything back in and powered it up. Sadly, this didn’t really make much of a difference.
Next, I remembered reading something about cached data, so I cleared that out. Still no luck. The lag persisted, and my frustration grew. I was starting to feel like I’d just wasted my time and money.
Then, I had a thought. Maybe it’s a graphics settings issue. I dove into the game’s settings, found the “Quality Settings Detailed” under “Graphics Settings”, and turned off Ray Tracing. Fingers crossed, I applied the changes and restarted the game.
Fixing Lag and FPS Issues for Nvidia Users
But the lagging was still there. I felt so defeated. I almost gave up, honestly. But then, I thought, “Hey, maybe it’s an Nvidia thing?” So, I opened up the Nvidia Control Panel. It was pretty simple, just right-click on the desktop and click on the Nvidia Control Panel option.
I tweaked a few settings in there, specifically the ones related to low latency mode, and gave it another shot.
- First I tried turning off my computer.
- Then I unplugged the cable, wait a few minutes.
- After that, I plugged the cable back in.
- Turn the computer back on.
And guess what? It actually helped! The game ran smoother, and the lag was significantly reduced. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a heck of a lot better than before. I was finally able to start enjoying the game.
The tutorial boss, that helicopter, was a real pain. It taught me the hard way that being aggressive is key. And then there was Balteus in Chapter 1, oh boy, that fight was something else. But you know what? I managed to get through it. It reminded me a lot of Armored Core V from back in 2012 – challenging but rewarding.
So, yeah, that’s my story of downloading and setting up Armored Core 6. It wasn’t the smoothest ride, but I learned a lot along the way. Hopefully, my little adventure can help some of you out there avoid the same headaches.
Keep those mechs running, folks!
