Okay, so yesterday I got curious about how Justin Fields is rated in Madden 23. You know, that football video game everyone’s playing. I’m a huge Bears fan, so naturally, I wanted to see how our QB stacks up.
First off, I grabbed my controller and booted up my console. I navigated through the menus – man, sometimes it feels like there are a million options in these games – and finally got to the roster section. I selected the Chicago Bears, naturally, and scrolled down to find our man, Justin Fields.

Fields’ Overall Rating
Alright, so here’s the deal: Fields’ overall rating in Madden 23 is 74. Honestly, that felt a little low to me. I mean, the guy’s a beast on the field, but I guess the Madden ratings are based on a bunch of different stats.
Breaking Down the Stats
After finding his overall rating, I dove deeper into his specific attributes. Here’s what I found:
- Speed: This dude’s got wheels! He’s got a 90 rating for speed, which is pretty darn good. It makes sense – we’ve all seen him scramble out of the pocket and make defenders look silly.
- Acceleration: Also a 90! So not only is he fast, but he gets up to speed quickly. This makes him really dangerous when he decides to take off with the ball.
- Agility: Another 90! This means he can change direction like nobody’s business, juking defenders left and right.
- Throw Power: He’s got a cannon for an arm, and Madden gives him another 90 rating here. We know he can launch the ball downfield, and this rating reflects that.
Where He Needs to Improve
Now, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. I noticed a few areas where Madden thinks he could be better:
- Throwing on the Run: He’s only got an 80 here. To be fair, throwing accurately while moving is tough, but I think he’s a bit better than that in real life.
- Throw Accuracy Short: Another 80. I can see where they’re coming from on this one, he does have some inconsistency with those shorter passes.
After checking all of this out, I fired up a quick game to see how he plays. Even with those lower ratings in some areas, he still feels pretty good to control. That speed and agility are no joke! I ended up winning the game, of course, because I’m pretty awesome at Madden. And also, maybe because Justin Fields is a pretty good quarterback, even if his Madden rating doesn’t fully reflect it.
So yeah, that’s my little deep dive into Justin Fields’ Madden 23 rating. It was a fun way to kill some time, and it got me even more hyped for the upcoming football season. I’m really hoping he proves those ratings wrong and has a killer year! Go Bears!
