Alright, so I’ve been messing around with Pokemon Go lately, and let me tell you, figuring out the best movesets for my Pokemon has been a real head-scratcher. But I’ve finally got a good handle on it, and I wanna share what I’ve learned so far.
First off, I started by looking at Fast Attacks. I found that some of them are way better than others. Like, Lock-On, this one’s a beast with 5 Energy Per Turn (EPT). I also saw that Psycho Cut, Thunder Shock, and Mud Shot are pretty good too, all sitting at 4.5 EPT. And Snarl? Not bad either with 4.33 EPT. Oh, and I can’t forget Vine Whip, Shadow Claw, Powder Snow, Fury Cutter, Spark, and Volt Switch – all solid choices with 4 EPT or more.

- Lock-On (5 EPT)
- Psycho Cut (4.5 EPT)
- Thunder Shock (4.5 EPT)
- Mud Shot (4.5 EPT)
- Snarl (4.33 EPT)
- Vine Whip (4 EPT)
- Shadow Claw (4 EPT)
- Powder Snow (4 EPT)
- Fury Cutter (4 EPT)
- Spark (4 EPT)
- Volt Switch (4 EPT)
So, I started hunting for Pokemon with these Fast Attacks. But that’s just half the battle. I also needed to pair them with Charge Attacks that don’t cost too much energy. I aimed for those that cost 40 energy or less. This way, I can use them more often in battles.
Then, I got into some actual battles. I realized that it’s super important to catch my opponent’s Charge Attacks with a Pokemon that can resist them. It’s like, if they throw a Water-type move, I switch to my Grass-type Pokemon. This totally turned the tables in some of my fights.
I also started paying attention to my opponents. Like, I noticed some of them always shield at the same time. So, I started using that to my advantage. If I know they’re gonna shield, I use a weaker attack first to bait it out, and then BAM! Hit them with a stronger move. It’s all about mind games, you know?
Another thing I did was to focus on building a team of three Pokemon that cover each other’s weaknesses. It’s like, if one is weak to Fire, I make sure another one is strong against it. And I always try to include some popular Pokemon in my team, just to be prepared for anything.
Some other general stuff
I found out that there are these things called Elite Fast TMs. They’re super rare, so I’m careful not to waste them. I’ve been using them to teach my best Pokemon some killer moves that help me win in both PvE and PvP battles.
Also, I looked up which TMs are compatible with certain Pokemon. It’s a bit of a pain, but it’s worth it to make sure I’m not wasting any resources. I noticed there are, like, a million choices in the competitive mode, so this really helped narrow it down. The strongest Pokemon change a lot, so I have to keep up with that if I want to stay on top.
So yeah, that’s my Pokemon Go moveset journey so far. It’s been a lot of trial and error, but I’m finally getting the hang of it. Hopefully, this helps some of you out there too!
