Alright, so the other day I was scrolling through my usual gaming news feeds and I saw some buzz about “League of Legends”. Now, I’ve been playing this game for a while, and there’s always something new happening, right? So, I noticed everyone’s talking about this “Split 2” thing for the 2024 season. I was like, “Okay, when exactly is this thing kicking off?”
I started digging around because, you know, timing is everything when you’re trying to climb that ranked ladder. I checked out a bunch of forums and gaming sites to get the scoop. The first thing I found was that Split 2 is supposed to start on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. It’s the same for everyone, starting at noon based on your server time. That’s pretty straightforward, I thought.
Then I found another post talking about the end of Split 1 and the start of Patch 14.10, which kind of confirmed the May 15 date. It was good to see different sources saying the same thing. But then, plot twist! I stumbled upon a social media post, from the official League of Legends Twitter, no less, that mentioned July 17. I was confused for a second, thinking, “Wait, is it May or July?” I read a bit more and realized that must have been a typo, because all the other information was consistent about May 15.
I kept reading and found out when Split 2 is supposed to wrap up. Apparently, it ends on September 24, 2024, at 11:59:59 PM local server time. But for the folks in the higher ranks, like Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger, it ends 15 minutes earlier. It’s like they need that extra time to sort out the top players or something. Anyway, after Split 2 ends, Split 3 starts 12 hours later, at noon. There’s going to be a “soft rank reset” when Split 3 begins, so everyone will drop a bit in rank. It happens every time, so it’s no big deal, but it’s good to be prepared, I guess.
