Alright, so I’ve been hyped for the “Shadow of the Erdtree” DLC for Elden Ring, and I finally decided to splurge on the Collector’s Edition for Xbox. Let me tell you, it was a whole process.
First off, I started by scouring the internet for any information I could find on what this thing actually came with. I mean, it’s not cheap, so I wanted to make sure I was getting my money’s worth. I found out that the Collector’s Edition includes the “Shadow of the Erdtree” expansion code, which is a given, but also a 46cm statue of Messmer the Impaler. Now, I didn’t know much about this Messmer guy, but the statue sounded pretty badass.
Then came the pre-order. I spent a good chunk of time checking out all the different versions and bundles available. It was a bit overwhelming, honestly. I saw that there was also a Deluxe Edition that includes the base game, the expansion, and some digital goodies like an artbook and the original soundtrack. It was tempting, but I already own the base game, and I really wanted that Messmer statue, so I stuck with my original plan.
After finally placing the pre-order for the Collector’s Edition, I found out about a little bonus: a “Ring of Miquella” gesture that you get when the DLC launches. Pretty cool, I guess. It’s the little things, right?
With the pre-order secured, I moved on to figuring out how to actually access the DLC when it drops. I’m not the most tech-savvy person, so I needed some hand-holding. Turns out, I need to defeat a couple of big bads: Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood. I have defeated Radahn, but Mohg is another story. Time to grind!
Once I (hopefully) beat Mohg, I have to go to the Mohgwyn Palace arena and interact with a withered arm sticking out of a weird egg-looking thing. From what I gathered, that’s the gateway to the DLC area. It is strange, but hey, it’s Elden Ring.
So, that’s where I’m at now. Pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition, got the gesture as a bonus, and I’m currently working on taking down Mohg so I can access the DLC when it’s out. It’s been a journey already, and the expansion isn’t even here yet! But I’m excited, and I can’t wait to get my hands on that statue and dive into the new content. I will keep you guys updated!
