Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, following all your instructions:
Alright, so today I messed around with Vampire Survivors, and let me tell you, figuring out which characters are actually good is a whole thing. I decided to dive deep and create my own character tier list. Because, why not? I’ve got time, and I love this game’s weirdness.

Getting Started: The Basics
First, I played a bunch of rounds. Like, a lot of rounds. You gotta get a feel for each character, you know? I started with Antonio, ’cause, well, he’s the default dude. His whip is decent early on, but I wanted to see what else was out there.
I quickly realized that some characters start way stronger than others. Like, Imelda with her magic wand? She’s clearing out enemies from the get-go. It makes a huge difference when you’re trying to survive those first few chaotic minutes.
Experimenting with Builds:
Then it became about trying different weapon combinations with each character. This is where things got interesting. I discovered that some characters have hidden bonuses or affinities for certain weapons. It’s not always obvious!
- Pasqualina: Started noticing her projectile speed bonus is actually nuts with the right setup.
- Gennaro: Figured out that extra projectile to knives makes him a boss killer.
- Arca: Fire wand god, I tell ya.
I spent ages just trying to find synergies. I’d start a run with a specific character, focusing on getting certain weapons and passive items. Took tons of notes with some scribbled on paper, nothing too organized to see the builds with the best outcome.
The “A-Ha!” Moments:
The biggest “a-ha” moment was realizing that some characters are just plain bad in the early game. Like, they might be awesome later, but getting them there is a real struggle. I’m looking at you, some of secret characters which I don’t want to spoil for anybody… You need a specific strategy, or you’re toast.
Building the Tier List (Finally!):
So, after all that playing, I started to categorize the characters. I went with the classic S, A, B, C, D tiers. It’s the easiest way to show who’s top-tier and who’s… well, not.
Putting it together was tough. There’s always that “but what if…” feeling. Like, maybe I haven’t found the perfect build for this one character yet. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right? It’s my tier list, based on my experience. That’s how a good Tier List works!
I ended up with a few characters in the S-tier that felt consistently powerful. A bunch in A and B, characters that are good but might need specific items. And then a few down in C and D… bless their hearts, they tried.
It’s all about how it feels to play them, not just some numbers on a spreadsheet. And honestly, that’s what makes Vampire Survivors so addictive. It’s the constant experimentation, the feeling of finding that perfect combination that makes you an unstoppable force.
