Okay, so I decided to jump into Marvel Snap today, specifically focusing on Pool 1 cards. I’ve heard a lot about how important it is to understand these starting cards before moving on, so I figured I’d really dig in.
Getting Started
First thing I did was just look at all the cards I had available. You know, the ones you get right at the beginning. Stuff like Sentinel, Mister Fantastic, and Kazar. It’s a pretty decent mix, I gotta say.

Building My First Decks
Next, I started messing around with building some decks. I wanted to try a few different strategies, so I made one deck focused on getting a lot of 1-cost cards out quickly, using Kazar to buff them up. It was pretty fun to see how fast I could fill up locations.
- I picked a lot of cheap cards like Ant-Man and Nightcrawler.
- Then, I added Kazar to make those little guys stronger.
- I also threw in some control cards like Enchantress, to counter any big plays my opponent might try.
Playing Some Games
Then came the real test – actually playing some games! I queued up for a few matches and, honestly, it was a bit of a rollercoaster. I won some, I lost some. It’s definitely a learning process.
I noticed that some cards, like Angela, were super powerful if I played them right. Getting her on a location early and then filling it up was a great way to get a big power boost. I tried using her on turn 2, it worked very good!
Experimenting and Tweaking
After each game, I went back to my decks and made some small changes. Swapped out a card here, added a different one there. I realized that it’s not just about the cards themselves, but also about how you play them and when you play them.
For example, I found that holding onto some cards for a later turn could be way more effective than just playing everything as soon as possible. Like, saving my Sentinel for a turn when I really needed to secure a location.
My Overall Takeaway
So, after spending a good chunk of time playing with Pool 1 cards, I feel like I’ve got a much better grasp of the basics. It’s all about experimenting, seeing what works, and learning from your mistakes. I still consider myself a beginner, and I am going to continue learning.
It is really fun game, and can’t wait to play more!
