Alright, so I’ve been getting into crafting amulets in Diablo 2 lately, and let me tell you, it’s a whole thing. I wanted to share my little adventure with you guys, maybe you can learn from my mistakes, or hey, maybe you’re already a pro and can tell me what I’m doing wrong!
First off, I had to gather some materials, right? I needed a magic amulet to start with, not a rare one, a magic one. I spent a good chunk of time just running around, killing monsters and hoping they dropped one. Thankfully, I found one after a few hours, a pretty basic one with no stats. I’ve also been hoarding perfect gems because each type gives you a different result.

Getting Started and First Attempts
Then I needed some runes, specifically the ones used in crafting. I had some saved up from my previous runs, but not all the ones I needed. I spent a lot of time trading with other players to get the specific runes. Also, I can’t forget about jewels. You need those, too.
Once I had all my ingredients, I went to the Horadric Cube. That’s where all the magic happens. I threw in my magic amulet, a perfect gem, a rune, and a jewel, crossed my fingers, and hit that transmute button.
- First try: I used a Perfect Amethyst, a Ral rune, and some random jewel. I ended up with a caster amulet. It had some mana and faster cast rate, which was pretty cool, but nothing amazing.
- Second try: This time, I used a Perfect Ruby, a Nef rune, and another jewel. This gave me a blood amulet, and it had some life steal. Again, it was alright but nothing to write home about.
I kept experimenting with different combinations. I tried using Perfect Sapphire with a Thul rune for a safety amulet, hoping for some resistances. I tried Perfect Emerald with an Eld rune for a hit power amulet, which I thought would be good for my melee character. Some of these experiments were okay, some were total duds.
Learning and Improving
It’s been a lot of trial and error, honestly. I’ve wasted a lot of materials, but I’ve also learned a lot. I started keeping a little notebook to write down what combinations I was using and what the results were. That helped me figure out what worked and what didn’t, so I can make better decisions when crafting amulets.
One thing I realized is that the level of the amulet matters. I mean, it makes sense, but I wasn’t paying much attention to it at first. Higher-level amulets can roll with better stats, so I started looking for those specifically. Also, the jewel you use matters less, but it has to be a magic one.
Current Progress
I’m still crafting amulets, and it’s kind of addictive. I haven’t made anything truly amazing yet, but I feel like I’m getting closer. I’ve made a few that are actually pretty useful for my characters, which is a good feeling. I’m still aiming for that perfect amulet, you know, the one that makes you say, “Wow, I can’t believe I made this!”
So yeah, that’s my crafting journey so far. It’s been fun, frustrating, and rewarding all at the same time. If you’re thinking about trying it out, I say go for it! Just be prepared to spend some time and resources, and don’t get discouraged if you don’t get something great right away. It’s all part of the process. And hey, if you’ve got any tips for me, let me know! I’m always looking to improve.
