Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with different champions in League of Legends lately, trying to find some off-meta picks that are actually fun and can throw people off guard. And guess what? I stumbled upon something kinda crazy – Bel’Veth support. Yeah, you heard that right.
Experimenting with Bel’Veth Support
I started this whole thing by just getting tired of the usual supports. You know, the same old picks that are always locked in. Wanted to try something fresh. I saw Bel’Veth sitting there in my champion pool and thought, “Why not?” So, I jumped into a few normal games first, just to get a feel for it. Honestly, it was a bit of a mess at first. I was feeding, my ADC was probably flaming me in their head, and I was just generally clueless. But I kept at it.

The first thing I focused on was understanding her Q. It’s her dash, and it’s crucial for engaging. I started using it to poke at the enemy bot lane, trying to get a feel for the range and how aggressive I could be without getting myself killed. Then there’s her W, the knock-up. I realized this was the key to making Bel’Veth support work. I began practicing landing it consistently, especially right after using my Q to close the distance. It’s a pretty narrow skill shot, so it took some getting used to.
Refining the Playstyle
After a few games, I started to see the potential. Bel’Veth’s early game is surprisingly strong. If you can land your W, it’s a guaranteed follow-up from your ADC. I started coordinating with my duo partners, telling them to go all-in whenever I landed the knock-up. It was working! We were getting first bloods, snowballing the lane, and generally making the enemy bot lane miserable.
Runes and Items
Now, about the runes and items. This is where I spent a lot of time experimenting. Initially, I was going with the standard Conqueror setup, thinking it would be good for extended trades. But then I realized that as a support, I wasn’t really looking for long fights. I needed burst and utility. So, I switched to Hail of Blades. It just made sense. You dash in, proc Hail of Blades, get your autos off, and then back out. For items, I started with a support item, but I found myself rushing mobis. And I found that PTA was not very good for her in jungle. So I droped it.

The Results
I took this build into ranked, and I won’t lie, it was a mixed bag. Some games, we absolutely dominated. I ended up with a score like 2/1/15, just enabling my team to carry. But other games, it was a disaster. I got flamed, reported, and probably caused a few people to lose some LP. Overall, I ended up with around a 50% win rate after 10 games, which, for an off-meta pick like this, I’d say it’s not that bad. But if you want a stable win rate, maybe below 40%. Just try it if you want some fun, not for a stable rank-up.
So, is Bel’Veth support viable? I’d say it’s a niche pick. It’s definitely not something you can blind pick every game. But if you’re looking for something different, something that can catch your opponents off guard, and if you’re willing to put in the time to learn her, then yeah, give it a shot. Just be prepared for some flame, and maybe don’t try it in your promos.
