Okay, so I’ve been playing a ton of Pokemon Go lately, and I gotta tell you about this one Pokemon I finally managed to get – Dubwool. It’s not the rarest or the strongest, but it was a little bit of a grind to get, and I feel like sharing the whole experience.
First off, to even get a Dubwool, you need to start with its pre-evolution, Wooloo. Now, I had seen Wooloo pop up here and there, but they weren’t exactly common. I’d catch one every now and then, but not enough to get the 50 Candy needed to evolve it. The spawn rate for Wooloo was pretty low where I usually play. I tried to walk a lot to different places to find it but not lucky enough.

Then, the event came around, and suddenly, Wooloo were everywhere! It was like the game developers flipped a switch, and boom, sheep galore. I was so excited that I went out to a park. So I started catching every single one I saw. I used berries, Great Balls, whatever it took. My item bag was getting full quickly, but I didn’t care. I was on a mission.
- Catch every Wooloo I encountered.
- Use Pinap Berries to maximize Candy.
- Keep walking and hatching eggs for extra Candy.
After a couple of days of some serious Pokemon Go action, I finally hit that 50 Candy mark. It was a great feeling, let me tell you. I found a pretty decent Wooloo with good stats and hit that evolve button. And there it was, my very own Dubwool.
Now, I know Dubwool isn’t exactly a powerhouse in raids or anything. It’s more of a tank, you know? Its best moves are Tackle and Wild Charge, so that’s what I stuck with. From what I read, Tackle helps charge up the Max Meter pretty fast, which is cool. Its CP is not very high, barely reaching 2,500 CP. Even with XL and Best Buddy CP boosts, it still can not reach a high CP.
I tried it out in a few Ultra League battles, and it did okay. But honestly, I mostly just wanted to evolve it to complete that part of my Pokedex. I’ve also heard that Payback is a good move for Dubwool in Ultra League because of Giratina. I might give that a try later on. I also used some Candy XL on it, and now it’s almost at the Ultra League CP cap, so that’s something.
All in all, getting Dubwool was a fun little project. It wasn’t too tough, especially with the event, but it still felt good to finally achieve it. Now, it’s time to move on to the next Pokemon on my list. The grind never stops, right?
My main takeaways from this whole thing:
- Be patient.
- Take advantage of events.
- Have fun with it.
It is a game after all. Good luck hunting, folks.
