Alright, folks, let’s talk about Pokemon Sword and Shield. I’ve been spending a ton of time in these games lately, trying to figure out which Pokemon are worth using and which ones, well, aren’t. So, I decided to make my own tier list, because why not? I’m not one for using fancy words, so I’ll just get right to it.
First, I started by playing through the game normally a few times. I caught a whole bunch of different Pokemon, trained them up, and battled with them. This was to just get a feel for which Pokemon felt strong and which ones felt a bit weak. It was a long process for sure, but I enjoyed it.

Then, I started digging into the stats. Now, I’m no expert, but I know that attack, defense, speed, and all that stuff matters. I spent hours comparing numbers, trying to figure out which Pokemon had the best stats overall.
After getting a good idea about the stats, I started organizing. I used a simple spreadsheet to keep track of everything. I put the Pokemon into different tiers based on my experiences and their stats. S-tier was for the absolute best, the ones I found myself using all the time. Then there was A-tier, B-tier, and so on. I think I went all the way down to E-tier. I even considered making F-tier for fun.
- S-tier: These are the powerhouses. If you want to win, you need these guys on your team.
- A-tier: Really solid choices. They might not be as strong as the S-tier, but they can definitely hold their own.
- B-tier: Decent Pokemon. They’re not amazing, but they’re not terrible either.
- C-tier: These are more middle-of-the-road. They can work in certain situations, but they’re not your go-to choices.
- D-tier: These guys are getting pretty weak. You can use them if you want, but don’t expect them to carry you to victory.
- E-tier: Honestly, I’d probably avoid these ones unless you’re really attached to them for some reason.
Once I had my list, I started testing it out even more. I built different teams using Pokemon from different tiers and battled against my friends and online. This helped me fine-tune my list and make sure it was accurate.
Finally, I put my tier list online to share it with everyone. I’m always looking for feedback, so if you have any thoughts, feel free to let me know. Just remember, this is all based on my own experiences and opinions, so your mileage may vary. You don’t have to follow my list religiously, but I hope it gives you a good starting point for building your own awesome Pokemon team. I believe it is a good job of organizing. Hopefully, you guys will find it useful.
