So, today I wanted to mess around with this “Halo Infinite” game and see if I could play with my buddies who are on different platforms. You know, some of them are on Xbox, others are on PC, and I wanted to see if we could all get in on the action together. Turns out, it’s called “crossplay.”
First off, I had to actually find the game. It’s called “Halo Infinite,” and apparently, it’s a pretty big deal. I booted up my Xbox and started looking around the store. The game was right there, easy to find, and it was free, which was nice. I started the download and waited for what felt like forever, but it was probably just an hour or so.

Once the game was finally downloaded, I launched it and started poking around. I was trying to figure out this whole crossplay thing. The menus were a bit confusing at first, but I eventually found the multiplayer section. That’s where all the cross-platform stuff is supposed to happen, so that’s where I went.
Now, I had to get my friends involved. I shot them all texts, telling them to get on “Halo Infinite” so we could see if this crossplay thing actually worked. A couple of them were already playing, which was convenient. I sent them invites through the in-game system, and it seemed like it went through, but I wasn’t totally sure. The game’s interface wasn’t super clear about whether they got the invites or not.
It took a bit of back and forth, but eventually, we all ended up in the same lobby. My buddy on his PC was there, and my other friend on his Xbox was there, too. We were all in the same pre-game area, which was a good sign. It looked like we were ready to go.
We hopped into a match, and bam, it actually worked. We were all playing together, even though we were on different machines. It was pretty cool, to be honest. We played a few rounds, and it was smooth sailing for the most part. There were a few hiccups here and there, like some lag or something, but it was nothing major. We were running and gunning like we would if we were all in the same room.
So, yeah, after messing around with it for a while, I can say that “Halo Infinite” crossplay is definitely a thing. It works, and it’s pretty cool that you can play with your friends no matter what system they’re on. It wasn’t the easiest thing to set up, but once we got it going, it was a blast. If you have friends on different platforms, you should definitely check it out. It seems like there are some other restrictions with this crossplay thing, but at least for Xbox and PC, it was alright.
- Download the game. I found “Halo Infinite” on the Xbox store, and it was free to download.
- Find the multiplayer section. This is where the crossplay magic happens.
- Invite your friends. Use the in-game system to send invites to your buddies on other platforms.
- Start a match. Once everyone’s in the lobby, jump into a game and see if it works.
It is not very difficult, right? Give it a try if you get a chance!
