Okay, so I’ve been playing this mobile card game called Marvel Snap for a while now. It’s pretty fun, but one thing that’s always bugged me is the way you get these things called “boosters.”
Basically, after every match, you get a handful of boosters for a random card in one of your decks. And I mean random. You could play a killer match with a deck full of, say, X-Men, and then bam, you get boosters for some random card you never use, like, I don’t know, Mister Fantastic or something.

So, I was thinking, there’s gotta be a better way, right? I started digging around in the game’s settings, thinking maybe there was a way to choose which cards get boosters. Nope. Nothing.
Then I started messing with my decks. I figured, maybe if I only have one deck, the game will be forced to give me boosters for cards in that deck, right?
Wrong.
I deleted all my decks except one. Played a bunch of matches. Guess what? Still got boosters for random cards that weren’t even in my deck!
So, I started paying close attention to which cards I was actually using in matches. Maybe the game was rewarding me for using specific cards? Nope. Played a whole match using only a few specific cards in the deck, and the game still gave boosters to the random cards.
So, I tried another strategy. I built a deck with just one card in it. Surely, this would work, right? I mean, there’s only one card to choose from! But, you guessed it, the game wouldn’t even let me start a match with a deck that had fewer than 12 cards. Foiled again!
The Experiment Goes On
Okay, time for a new approach. I made a deck with 11 cards that I never use, and 1 card that I actually wanted boosters for. The idea was that maybe, just maybe, the game would see that I was trying to focus on one card and give me a break.
I played a few matches. And… some progress! I actually got boosters for the card I wanted a couple of times! But it was still mostly random. Most of the time, I was still getting boosters for those other 11 cards I didn’t care about.
At this point, I’m starting to think that the game’s booster system is just totally random, or maybe it’s rigged to make you play longer. I don’t know. It’s frustrating, but I guess that’s just the way it is.
So, after all that, here I am. Still getting random boosters. But at least I figured out that building a deck with mostly unwanted cards and one card that you actually want might slightly increase your chances of getting boosters for that one card. Maybe. It’s not a perfect system, but hey, it’s something.

If any of you have had better luck with the Marvel Snap booster system, let me know. I’m all ears.
