Okay, so today I’m gonna talk about my recent grind in Pokemon GO, trying to snag that Douse Drive Genesect. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you.
First off, I started by checking what this Genesect thing was all about. Turns out, it’s a Bug and Steel-type, which is pretty cool, but also meant I needed to be ready for some serious Fire-type attacks. I brushed up on its best movesets, and saw that Metal Claw and Techno Blast were the way to go. The CP looked decent, so I figured it’d be a good addition to my team.

Then, I dug into the details of this Techno Blast move. Apparently, it’s Genesect’s signature move, and the Douse version is particularly sought after. That got me even more hyped. I also found out that Douse Drive Genesect can learn other moves like Magnet Bomb, Gunk Shot, and X-Scissor. Variety is the spice of life, right? So, I made a mental note to keep an eye out for those too.
Next up, raid prep. I knew I had to watch out for Flying and Rock-type moves, as those could really mess up my Genesect. So, I started rounding up my best Fire-type Pokemon, hoping they’d be enough to take this beast down. I also joined a few raid groups online, just to get some extra backup and tips from more experienced players. Teamwork makes the dream work, as they say.
- Checked Genesect’s type and best moves.
- Learned about Techno Blast and other possible moves.
- Prepared for raids by gathering Fire-type Pokemon and joining raid groups.
The first few raids were rough. I mean, really rough. We got wiped out a couple of times, and I started to doubt if I’d ever catch this thing. But, I didn’t give up. I kept tweaking my team, trying different combinations, and finally, we started making some progress. After a few more tries, we finally managed to defeat Genesect!
But, here’s the thing, catching it was a whole other story. That little sucker was jumping and dodging like crazy. I burned through so many Ultra Balls and Golden Razz Berries, it was ridiculous. But, finally, after what felt like forever, I caught it! I actually jumped up and cheered, probably scaring my cat in the process, haha.
Now that I’ve got my Douse Drive Genesect, I’ve been trying out different movesets in the Ultra League and Master League. It’s been fun experimenting and seeing what works best. From what I can tell, Fury Cutter as a Fast Move and either Magnet Bomb or Techno Blast (Douse) as a Charged Move seems to be a pretty solid combo. But, I’m still figuring things out.
Final Thoughts
All in all, it was a challenging but rewarding experience. It took some time, effort, and a whole lot of patience, but I finally got my Douse Drive Genesect. And, honestly, the feeling of finally catching it after all those raids was totally worth it. Now, I’ve got a powerful new Pokemon to add to my team, and I’m ready to take on whatever challenges come my way in Pokemon GO. If you’re thinking about trying to catch one, I say go for it! Just be prepared for a bit of a grind, and remember to have fun along the way.
