Okay, so, I’ve been playing a lot of Pokemon Go lately. And let me tell you, Dragonite is one tough cookie. I mean, this guy is a beast! A few days ago, I encountered a really strong Dragonite in a raid, and let me just say, it was a struggle. I tried using my usual team, but they got wiped out pretty quickly. That’s when I realized I needed a solid strategy to take this beast down.
I started doing some research, you know, reading up on Dragonite’s weaknesses and stuff. Found out that it’s a Dragon and Flying type, which means it’s particularly vulnerable to Ice-type moves. Rock-type moves also do a good number on it. That got me thinking about which Pokemon I had that could learn these types of moves. I remembered my trusty old Lapras has some killer Ice-type attacks, so I powered it up a bit and made sure it had the best moveset for the job.

I also dug up some other Pokemon with strong Ice and Rock attacks. My Golem with its Rock Throw and Stone Edge seemed like a good choice, and I also threw in a Mamoswine for good measure. With these guys, I figured I had a decent chance. I did another raid yesterday, and guess what? It was a Dragonite again! This time, though, I was ready. I put my team to the test.
The battle started, and my Lapras did a great job tanking Dragonite’s attacks while dishing out some serious damage with its Ice moves. When Lapras fainted, I switched to Golem, and those Rock attacks really did a number on Dragonite. Finally, Mamoswine came in and finished the job with a powerful Avalanche.
We managed to defeat the Dragonite just as the timer was running out. It was a close call, but so satisfying!
So, here’s what I learned from this whole experience:
- Type advantages are crucial. Knowing Dragonite is weak to Ice and Rock really helped me choose the right Pokemon for the battle.
- Powering up your Pokemon is important. A strong, well-leveled Pokemon with the right moveset can make all the difference.
- Don’t give up! Even if you fail the first time, you can always learn from your mistakes and try again.
If you’re struggling to take down Dragonite, give these tips a try. Trust me, it feels awesome when you finally defeat that big, orange dragon!
