Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this Pokémon Terrakion in Scarlet and Violet, trying to figure out the best way to use it in battles. Let me tell you, it’s been a journey!
First off, I had to decide what kind of role I wanted Terrakion to play. Was it gonna be a full-on attacker, or more of a mixed bag? After a bit of experimenting, I realized this thing hits like a truck, so I leaned towards making it a powerhouse.

Next up was choosing the right moves. This was a bit of a headache, not gonna lie. Terrakion can learn a bunch of different attacks, so narrowing it down was tough. I started with looking at its Fast Attacks. It’s got Zen Headbutt, Smack Down, and Double Kick. I wanted it to be a Fighting type attacker, so the choice is obvious. Double Kick is a great Fighting-type move. Then I tested out a bunch of different combinations in some practice battles. And I found that Double Kick as a Fast Attack works really well.
For Charged Attacks, it’s kind of tricky. I tried different ones like Sacred Sword, Rock Slide, etc. They are all good, but I finally found that Sacred Sword is amazing because it deals tons of damage. And also the Rock Slide works well since it utilizes Terrakion’s rock-typing.
- Fast Attack: Double Kick
- Charged Attack: Sacred Sword, Rock Slide
I spent hours battling with different sets, tweaking things here and there. One thing I noticed was that Terrakion is vulnerable to a lot of types – Fairy, Fighting, Grass, Ground, Psychic, Steel, and even Water. Man, that’s a lot to watch out for! So, I had to be careful about when I sent it out.
After a lot of trial and error, the best moveset I found is Double Kick and Sacred Sword. I tried using Smack Down and Rock Slide as well. These two sets both work really great, and it depends on what kind of type I want Terrakion to focus on. But using Double Kick and Sacred Sword gives me the highest total DPS, something around 19.48 from what I’ve seen. This is huge! It’s also pretty solid for those PvP battles. But if you want Terrakion to be a rock-type attacker, then go for the second set.
So yeah, that’s my experience with figuring out Terrakion’s best moveset. It took some time, but I’m pretty happy with where I landed. It’s all about finding that right balance, you know? Hope this helps anyone else trying to train up their own Terrakion!
