Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Pokemon Go lately, trying to up my game, you know? And I stumbled upon this cool Pokemon called Lanturn. It’s like, this fish thing that’s both Water and Electric, which is pretty neat. I figured I’d share my little journey of figuring out the best moveset for this guy, ’cause why not, right?
Getting Started with Lanturn
First off, I had to actually catch a Lanturn. I mean, that’s step one, duh. I spent a good few days just wandering around, tapping on every Chinchou I saw, ’cause that’s what evolves into Lanturn. Finally got enough candies and boom, I had my Lanturn. It felt like a pretty big achievement, not gonna lie.

Experimenting with Moves
So, once I had my Lanturn, I started messing around with its moves. I went into a bunch of battles, tried different combinations, you know, the usual. I used those TMs – Technical Machines – to switch things up. Some moves were just awful, like, I was losing battles left and right. But I kept at it, ’cause that’s how you learn, right?
- Spark: This one seemed okay at first. It’s an Electric-type move, so it charges up your special attack pretty fast.
- Water Gun: I tried this one too, ’cause, you know, it’s a Water Pokemon. It’s decent, but nothing to write home about.
- Thunderbolt: Now this one’s a powerhouse. It’s an Electric move and it hits hard. I won a few battles just using this one.
- Hydro Pump: Another heavy hitter, but this one’s Water-type. It takes a bit longer to charge, but man, when it hits, it hits.
Figuring Out the Best Combo
After a ton of trial and error, I started to see a pattern. Using Spark as the fast move to charge up Thunderbolt or Hydro Pump seemed to be the way to go. I was winning way more battles this way. It’s like, Spark softens them up, and then boom, you hit them with one of the big ones.
The Final Verdict
So, after all that, my go-to moveset for Lanturn is definitely Spark for the fast move, and then either Thunderbolt or Hydro Pump for the charged move, depending on who I’m up against. I mean, it’s not rocket science, but it works. And honestly, it’s super satisfying to see those wins rack up.
In the end, I guess the best part of this whole thing was just the process of figuring it out. Like, Pokemon Go isn’t just about catching them all, it’s also about experimenting and finding what works best for you. And sharing that with others, ’cause hey, we’re all in this together, right? I hope some of you guys find this useful, and if you’ve got your own Lanturn strategies, I’m all ears! I’ve even joined a few Pokemon Go tournaments in my city. There are these Championship Series things where you can earn Play Points. The more you play, the more you learn, and the more fun it gets. I just wish I had more time to play, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll become a Pokemon Master one day.
