Alright, let’s talk about my little adventure with Shadow Charizard in Pokémon GO. I’ve been messing around with this fiery beast for a while now, and I’ve finally figured out what I think is the best moveset for it.
So, I started by catching a bunch of these Shadow Charmanders. It wasn’t easy, but hey, nothing good comes easy, right? After evolving a few into Charizards, I started experimenting with their moves. This is where things got interesting.
First off, I tried a bunch of fast moves. Fire Spin felt pretty good, especially compared to Ember. It just seemed to do more damage, you know? Then there was Wing Attack, which also felt pretty strong. I even messed around with Air Slash, but it didn’t feel as powerful as the other two. So, I decided to stick with Fire Spin because I was mostly using Charizard for its fire power.
Next up, the charged moves. Now, this is where Charizard really shines. I got lucky and managed to get Blast Burn on one of my Charizards during a Community Day event. Man, that move is insane! It just melts through opponents. I also tried Overheat and Fire Blast, and while they’re strong, Blast Burn just feels like it hits way harder.
I also gave Dragon Claw a shot, thinking it might be good for coverage. It wasn’t bad, but I realized that I mostly wanted Charizard to be a fire-type powerhouse, so I ended up sticking with Blast Burn as my main charged move.
After trying out all these different combinations, I finally settled on what I think is the best setup. I went with:
- Fast Move: Fire Spin
- Charged Move: Blast Burn
I also did some testing in battles. I hopped onto PvPoke’s battle simulator, which is a pretty neat tool for figuring out how your Pokémon stack up against others. It helped me confirm that this moveset was a solid choice.
With this setup, my Shadow Charizard has been tearing it up in battles. It’s especially awesome in the Great League and Ultra League. The combination of Fire Spin and Blast Burn just deals so much damage. Of course, you still have to watch out for those pesky Rock and Water-types, but overall, this moveset has been a blast to use!
