Alright, so I’ve been playing a ton of Pokémon GO lately, and I wanted to share my experience with catching and using Slowking. It’s been quite a journey, let me tell you!
First off, I had to actually find a Slowking. It is not exactly easy, Slowking is a Water and Psychic-type Pokémon, and I don’t have one appear around. So, I have to catch a Slowpoke first. After walking around my neighborhood for hours, visiting every PokéStop I could find, I finally found one.

Then came the hard part – evolving it. I needed a King’s Rock and 50 Slowpoke candies. I already got a bunch of candies from catching all those Slowpokes, but the King’s Rock was a whole different story. I spun PokéStops like crazy, did a bunch of raids, and finally, after what felt like forever, I got one!
Once I had everything, I evolved my Slowpoke into Slowking. The animation was pretty cool, I gotta say. And there it was, my very own Slowking! It was a great feeling, all that hard work finally paid off.
Now, when it comes to using Slowking in battles, it’s been a bit of a mixed bag. I’ve tried it out in a few different scenarios, like Go Battle League, against Team Rocket, and in regular trainer battles. Here’s what I’ve noticed:
- Go Battle League: Slowking can hold its own in some matchups, but it’s not exactly a top-tier pick. I feel good when I win a battle with it.
- Team Rocket: This is where Slowking shines a bit more. Its Psychic moves are super effective against those annoying Fighting-type grunts.
- Trainer Battles: It’s fun to use Slowking against friends, but again, it’s not the strongest Pokémon out there.
I’ve experimented with different movesets too. I wanted to find the best fast moves and charged moves to make Slowking more effective. I tried a few combinations I found online, like Confusion and Psychic, or Water Gun and Surf. I think I like the Psychic moveset better, it just feels more powerful to me.
My Conclusion
All in all, getting and using Slowking in Pokémon GO has been a fun experience. It’s not the easiest Pokémon to get, and it’s not the strongest in battles, but it’s definitely unique and satisfying to use. It was great to add it to my collection, and I had a good time and feel great when I win with it in battles!
