Okay, so, let’s talk about this Kaisa splash art project I worked on. It was a pretty big deal for me, and I put a lot of time into it. This whole thing started a couple of months ago.
I kicked things off by brainstorming some ideas, you know, just getting a feel for what I wanted this piece to look like. I spent a good chunk of time just sketching out different poses, different vibes. It’s always a bit messy at the beginning, but that’s part of the fun, right?

Once I had a rough idea, I started blocking in the basic shapes and colors. Didn’t worry too much about the details at this point, just wanted to get the composition right. Then the real work began.
Moved into refining the line art. This is where I really started to see Kaisa taking shape. I redid this part multiple times until I finally got satisfied with it.
- First, I cleaned up the lines, making sure everything was crisp and defined.
- Then, I added in some more details, like her armor, her hair, that sort of thing.
After that, it was time to color. This is always my favorite part. I experimented with a bunch of different color palettes before settling on the final one. It’s amazing how much the colors can change the mood of a piece, you know?
I remember spending hours, maybe even days, just tweaking the colors, adding shadows and highlights, making sure everything was just right. I used various brushes and played around with different blending modes.
Finally, after a lot of back and forth, I added the finishing touches. Some special effects here and there, a bit of polish, and boom, it was done!
I was pretty stoked with how it turned out. It was a challenging project, but I learned a ton in the process. And honestly, I’m just happy to share it with everyone. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking putting your work out there, but the feedback has been awesome so far. And thanks to the art directors, their tips were super helpful. This whole project was a good learning experience.
I worked on both the original Kaisa and the prestige version, along with other artists. We bounced a lot of ideas off each other. Anyway, that’s the story behind my Kaisa splash art. It was a fun ride, and I’m already thinking about what to tackle next!
