I’ve been itching to know if Snivy, that smug little grass snake Pokémon, is available in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. So, I dove deep into the game to find out.
First, I checked the initial Pokédex for the Paldea region. You know, the one you start with? No Snivy there. I scoured every nook and cranny of the Paldea region, from the lush fields to the dusty deserts, battling every Pokémon in sight, hoping to stumble upon a wild Snivy. But nope, it wasn’t just hanging around waiting to be caught.

Then, I remembered about the DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. Maybe Snivy was hiding there? I bought both parts, The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk, and started exploring.
In The Teal Mask, I trekked through Kitakami, battling trainers and searching high and low. I even tried that sandwich-making thing to boost my chances of finding grass-type Pokémon. Still no Snivy.
Finally, I headed to the Blueberry Academy in The Indigo Disk. This place is huge! It has four different biomes, each packed with different Pokémon. I spent hours exploring the Coastal Biome, which seemed like the most likely spot for a grass-type like Snivy. I battled, I searched, I used repels, I did everything I could think of.
- Checked Paldea Pokédex.
- Explored Paldea region.
- Bought and played The Teal Mask DLC.
- Explored Kitakami.
- Made grass-type-boosting sandwiches.
- Played The Indigo Disk DLC.
- Explored the Blueberry Academy’s biomes.
And guess what? After all that, I can confirm that Snivy is indeed in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but only through The Indigo Disk DLC. You gotta upgrade the Coastal Biome in the League Club Room using 3,000 BP. Finally, I found and caught my Snivy in the Coastal Biome! It was a real journey, let me tell you, but totally worth it to have that little guy on my team.
Summary
Snivy is in Scarlet and Violet, but it is locked behind a DLC. You will need to purchase the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, specifically The Indigo Disk, and upgrade the Coastal Biome using 3,000 BP in the League Club Room.
