Okay, so, I’ve been playing Pokemon Go for a while now, and I gotta say, these raids are something else. Today, I want to talk about Heatran, a real beast in the game. It is a legendary Pokemon, so it is not easy to defeat.
I woke up this morning, checked my phone, and saw that a Heatran raid was starting nearby. I have to capture this monster, no matter what. Grabbed my coffee, laced up my shoes, and I was out the door.

First things first, I had to figure out what this thing was all about. Heatran, it turns out, is a Fire and Steel type. Now, this is important because it means this guy is weak to a few things. Fighting and Water types do extra damage, but the real kicker is Ground. Ground-type attacks deal double damage to it, like a super punch! On the flip side, this Pokemon can resist attacks, including Bug, Fairy, Grass, Ice, and Poison. So, my usual team wasn’t going to cut it.
I met up with a bunch of other trainers at the gym. There were, like, 20 of us, all ready to go. It is important to have many trainers to defeat it in a raid battle. We huddled up, started strategizing. I threw in my two cents about those Ground-type weaknesses, and everyone seemed to agree. We picked our Pokemon – lots of Rhydon, Groudon, and a few Swampert for good measure. My strongest Ground-type Pokemon is a Groudon I’ve been powering up for months.
Battle Time
The battle started, and man, it was intense. Heatran was throwing out Fire Blasts and Iron Heads left and right. But we were ready. We kept dodging and unleashing our best moves. My Groudon was really dishing out the pain with Mud Shot and Earthquake.
- Dodging is Key: I can’t stress this enough. You gotta dodge those charged attacks. It saves your Pokemon and lets you get in more hits.
- Type Advantage: We hammered Heatran with Ground-type moves. It was super effective, just like the game says.
- Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Seriously, we wouldn’t have won without coordinating. Everyone played their part, and it paid off.
After a tough fight, we finally took Heatran down. It was a close call, but we did it. And you know what? I managed to catch it! A great addition to my collection. It was not easy to capture it. I threw many balls and golden berries to capture it, but it kept breaking out. After several tries, I caught it with an excellent throw. Now I had another legendary Pokemon in my pocket, ready to take on new challenges.
So, that’s my Heatran raid story. It was a blast, and I learned a lot. Hope this helps anyone out there looking to take on this fiery beast. Good luck, trainers!
