So, I was trying to figure out this whole Shadow Snorlax thing, right? It’s a real pain in the neck in Pokemon Go, and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
First, I did some digging around to see what others were saying. Turns out, the big shots like Mega Lucario, Mega Heracross, and some others like Terrakion and Mega Blaziken are the way to go. I mean, it makes sense since Snorlax is only weak against fighting types.

I started messing around with different Pokemon in my lineup. I don’t have a Mega Lucario, but I do have a regular Lucario with Counter and Power-Up Punch. And let me tell you, this guy just wrecked any Shadow Snorlax I came across. It was almost too easy.
Then I thought, why not try out some other fighting types? I had a Machamp lying around, so I gave him Counter and Cross Chop. He did a pretty good job, too, although not as insane as Lucario.
- Tried Lucario, it just demolishes Shadow Snorlax.
- Machamp’s not bad either.
- Someone mentioned Yvetal which is the top one counter. I gave it a try and, oh boy, it really is the top counter.
- I also tried Obstagoon with Cross Chop because, apparently, he’s resistant to Snorlax’s attacks. It wasn’t too shabby, but it felt a bit slow.
- Also gave Scrafty with Counter and Power-Up Punch a whirl. It was decent, but kind of a glass cannon situation.
After all that experimenting, I gotta say, if you have a Lucario, that’s your best bet. But if not, there are other options like Machamp, Obstagoon, or even Scrafty that can get the job done, maybe just not as efficiently.
I’m still messing around with different combinations, but at least I feel like I have a better handle on this Shadow Snorlax situation now. It’s not as intimidating as it first seemed.
