Okay, here’s my story about taking down Cresselia in Pokemon Go.
So, I saw Cresselia was back in raids, and I figured, “Why not give it a shot?” I’ve battled her before, but it’s always a good challenge. Plus, who doesn’t want to catch a legendary, right? I opened up the game and started to prepare for the battle.

First thing I did was check out what other trainers were saying online. I saw some people talking about using Pokemon like Necrozma, Mega Gengar, and Mega Tyranitar. I have those, but I also saw some chatter about Shadow Tyranitar and Shadow Chandelure being great choices. My team is not too strong, so I need to make a good choice. I remember Cresselia being a Psychic-type, which means it’s weak against Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves. I also read that it resists Psychic and Fighting-type attacks, and its Psychic moves are super effective against Poison and Fighting-types. That’s a lot to keep in mind!
Based on that, I started to build my team. I definitely wanted to include my powered-up Mega Gengar. That thing is a beast! Then I added my strongest Shadow Tyranitar, I remember getting this one, it took me a while. For the rest of the team, I grabbed a couple of other Dark and Ghost-types that I’ve been working on. I made sure none of them were Poison or Fighting-type, because that would be a disaster. I selected them all and waited for the battle.
When the raid started, I jumped in with a few other trainers. We started hammering away at Cresselia. My Mega Gengar was doing some serious damage, and my Shadow Tyranitar was holding its own. It was tough, but everyone’s Pokemon were doing great! I used up a couple of revives and a bunch of potions, but that’s just part of the game. We were whittling down Cresselia’s health pretty quickly. I was feeling pretty good about our chances.
Finally, after a pretty intense battle, we took her down! I was stoked! Then came the fun part – trying to catch her. I used a Golden Razz Berry and started throwing my best curveballs. I got lucky and I caught her on my third throw. Yes! It wasn’t my strongest Cresselia, but I was still happy to add her to my collection.
My Team
- Mega Gengar
- Shadow Tyranitar
- Necrozma
- Mega Houndoom
- Darkrai
- Hydreigon
And there you have it. That’s how I beat and caught Cresselia this time around. It’s always a fun challenge, and it’s even better when you can do it with other trainers. Now I just need to decide whether to power her up or trade her. Decisions, decisions…
