Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with CS:GO lately, trying to figure out this whole weekly reset thing. It’s been a bit of a journey, let me tell you.
First off, I started digging around to find out when this reset actually happens. I found some folks saying it’s on Wednesday, others saying Thursday, and even some saying Tuesday! It was a total mess. I read that it’s supposed to be Wednesday at 0:00 GMT. But that didn’t seem right based on my own drops.
So, I decided to test it out myself. I played a bunch of games on Tuesday evening, Central Time, and kept an eye on my drops. Lo and behold, right around 8 PM, I noticed my care package counter reset. I played some more, and sure enough, I started getting those new drops.
Then I kept playing throughout the week. On Wednesday, I noticed my drops reset again. This was more in line with what I was reading online. I played a few games and quickly got a case drop. I continued playing throughout the rest of the week, but the drops were a lot less frequent.
- Tuesday 8:00 PM Central Time: Weekly Care Package resets.
- Wednesday: Weekly drops reset, usually get a case drop within a few games.
I also checked if Steam Cloud was messing with my settings. Some folks online suggested that it could be overwriting game settings with old ones. I made sure it was enabled, but it didn’t seem to be the issue in my case.
Another thing I learned is that player ranks don’t reset every year. Instead, your rank ups go towards that year’s medal, which is kind of cool.
So, from what I can tell, the weekly reset for drops is definitely happening on Wednesday, but the Care Package seems to reset on Tuesday evening, at least for me. It’s still a bit confusing, but I feel like I’ve got a better handle on it now. I just keep playing and keep track of when I’m getting drops to figure out the best time to grind.

- Play on Tuesday evening and Wednesday to maximize your chances of getting new drops.
- Keep an eye on your Care Package counter to see when it resets for you.
- Don’t worry too much about your rank resetting – just focus on getting those sweet, sweet drops!
