Alright, let’s talk about “The Cauldron” in Elder Scrolls Online. I finally got around to tackling this dungeon, and man, it was a doozy. I’d heard some chatter about it online – something about laser beams and instant death, so I was a little nervous going in.
First things first, I grabbed a couple of buddies to run it with me. We figured it’d be easier with a group. I did read somewhere that companions are useless against the first and last boss in this dungeon, so we left them behind.

We jumped in, and the first part was pretty standard dungeon stuff. You know, clearing out trash mobs, the usual. Then we got to the first boss, some dude named Oxblood the Depraved. Nothing too crazy here, just had to watch out for his area-of-effect attacks. Teamwork made the dream work, as they say.
Next up was Taskmaster Viccia. She was a bit tougher, but we managed. The key was interrupting her whenever she started casting. We made sure to have someone on interrupt duty at all times. If you have people who can avoid the AoE, and are decent at their role, interrupt the boss, then you could deal with it.
- Interrupt the boss
- Don’t stand in AoE
- Be decent at their roles
Then came the Molten Guardian. This guy was a real pain. Lots of fire, lots of running around. We wiped a few times, but eventually, we got the hang of it. The trick was to stay mobile and keep an eye on where the fire was spreading.
Tips for “The Cauldron”
Now, here’s where things got really interesting. There are several Menhir Stoneskin, which I’d heard were the toughest bosses in the game. And let me tell you, they lived up to the hype. We spent a good chunk of time just trying to figure out their mechanics. I even saw a guide about getting the “Subterranean Smasher” achievement, which involves hard mode, no death, and speed run, but honestly, we were just trying to survive. I had read that they were in the Rivenspire region in High Rock, at Valeguard Tower, but I didn’t realize they’d be this tough.
After a lot of trial and error, a few more wipes, and some colorful language, we finally took them down. It was a close call, but we did it. I won’t lie, there may have been some yelling involved, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right? Anyway, that’s my “The Cauldron” story. It was a wild ride, but we made it through. If you’re thinking about trying it, make sure you’ve got a good team and be ready for a challenge.
It is a long journey, there are several bosses, keep moving forward, and we could deal with it.
It’s definitely one of the more memorable dungeon experiences I’ve had in ESO. Would I do it again? Probably. Would I recommend it? Definitely, if you’re up for some punishment.
The last words: Just remember, teamwork and a whole lot of patience are your best friends in “The Cauldron.” Good luck, and may your loot be legendary!
