So, I’ve been on the hunt for some good MMORPGs to play on my Mac. You know, it’s not always easy to find games that run well on macOS, plus finding ones that are actually fun and engaging, that’s a whole other story. Anyway, I did some digging and wanted to share what I’ve been up to.
First, I tried out World of Warcraft. I mean, it’s the classic, right? This is a paid game, so I had to buy it and get a subscription. The download and installation on my Mac were pretty straightforward. I created my character, chose my faction and class, and dove right into the world of Azeroth.

- Gameplay: The quests are engaging, the world is huge, and there’s just so much to do. I spent hours just exploring and leveling up. I even joined a guild and we raided a few dungeons together. It was a blast!
- Graphics: Okay, so it’s not the most cutting-edge, but the art style is timeless, and it runs super smooth on my Mac, even during big battles with loads of players.
- Community: The community is massive. There are always people online to play with, and everyone’s generally pretty helpful to newbies like me.
After a few weeks, I thought I’d try something new, so I checked out Final Fantasy XIV. This one also has a subscription model, but they have a free trial that lets you play up to a certain level. I installed it, created my character and logged in. The game is gorgeous. I mean, the graphics are a huge step up from WoW. I spent a good chunk of time just running around and taking in the sights. I even joined some casual group for some dungeon running. It’s all been pretty fun, even though I’m still figuring out all the mechanics. I also tried to find some videos about this game. It’s a great resource and I can get some interesting tips about gaming.
I also gave Guild Wars 2 a shot. The base game is free, but you gotta buy the expansions if you want the full experience. I downloaded the game through their website and got it running without any issues. I created my character and started exploring. The world is beautiful, and the dynamic events that happen are pretty cool. You can just stumble upon a massive battle or a world boss, and jump right in with a bunch of other players.
- Combat: It is a bit different from other MMORPGs, but in a good way. It’s more action-oriented, and you have to dodge and move around a lot. It keeps things exciting.
- Story: The storyline is pretty engaging, and there are tons of side quests and things to discover.
After trying these three games, I decided to install Game Center. It helped me find many interesting games and even play with my friends! It’s very convenient for tracking and comparing achievements and scores. I spent some time there and found a lot of different games to play. There are many players that I can challenge.
Honestly, I’m having a great time with all these games. Each one offers something a bit different, and it’s been fun switching between them. If you’re a Mac user and you’re looking for some solid MMORPG experiences, I definitely recommend giving these a try. It’s been a wild ride, but a fun one for sure.
Well, those are just some casual and interesting games I played recently. Hope you guys find these interesting! I will keep updating my gaming journey if I find any other good stuff!
