Man, getting my hands on the PlayStation Portal was a real adventure. I’d been eyeing it for a while, but every time I checked, it was out of stock. It was like trying to catch a ghost or something!

Apparently, they were the most likely to get a big shipment of the Portal. There was even a brief moment on November 28, 2023, when you could order it, but of course, I missed that boat.
Then I stumbled upon this thing called Stock Informer. It’s basically a tracker that keeps an eye on inventory for you. You can set it up to send you alerts when something you want is back in stock. Seemed like exactly what I needed.
Here’s What I Did
- Signed up for Stock Informer: I created an account and set up my preferences. They had options for email alerts, push notifications, and even a Discord server. I went with email and push notifications because I’m always on my phone.
- Waited (im)patiently: This was the hardest part, honestly. Every time my phone buzzed, I hoped it was the alert. Most of the time, it was just spam or a reminder to drink more water.
- Struck gold!: Finally, one day, the alert came through. The Portal was in stock in the US! I don’t think I’ve ever clicked a link so fast in my life.
I managed to snag one! It felt like winning the lottery, seriously. I know a lot of people are still struggling to find one, and there are even some jerks out there trying to resell them for crazy prices. It sucks, but I’m just grateful I got mine.
After reading, it seems like a lot of people have bought one. It’s estimated that 3% of the PS5 owners own a Portal, around 2 million people. What a huge number!
