Okay, so, I’ve been playing a ton of Pokemon Moon lately. It’s a pretty fun game, and one thing I wanted to dive into was the Fire-type Pokemon available. I started by looking around online about what people were saying about fire types.
I saw some players online debating about which Fire/Fighting was the best, and someone even suggested Fire/Dragon as a good combination. There was also talk about Volcarona. Apparently, it’s viewed as some kind of fire deity in the game. Pretty cool, huh? It made me try it out.

I caught a Volcarona, and it’s been okay in battles, especially in colder areas of the game. But I needed something with more speed, that’s where Talonflame came in. Its speed is insane! This was one thing I picked up from reading other players’ experiences. They also talked about Arcanine’s speed and attack, but Talonflame just seemed faster to me, and that’s important to me.
Then there was this whole discussion about Alolan forms, and Marowak kept popping up. I gave Alolan Marowak a shot, and it’s not bad. It’s got some interesting moves. I spent a good few hours training it up, trying different move sets, seeing what worked. It was a good time to do it.
I also experimented with Salazzle and Turtonator after reading some recommendations. Between the two, I found Salazzle to be the better fit for my team. It’s surprisingly bulky, and its special attack is really good. I read somewhere that it’s bulky, so I had to see for myself. Turtonator, on the other hand, didn’t quite click with me.
I also used Volcanion for a bit. It was tough to use at first, but I needed something to deal with water types, and I read online that it could counter Urshifu-Rapid-Strike. So I put in the time to train it, and it was worth it! It’s become one of my go-to Pokemon when I’m facing a tough Water-type opponent.
Here’s what I ended up with as my main Fire-type Pokemon:
- Talonflame: Super fast, which is great for getting the first hit in. I trained it until it could outspeed almost anything.
- Alolan Marowak: I’m still figuring out the best strategy for it, but it’s been fun to use. I leveled it up quite a bit, and it’s holding its own in battles.
- Salazzle: Its special attack is really strong, and it’s surprisingly bulky, just like I read. I made sure to teach it some powerful special moves, and it’s been a great addition to my team.
- Volcanion: This one’s my secret weapon against Water types. It took a lot of training, but it’s really come through for me in tough battles. I spent a lot of time using it.
So yeah, that’s my experience with Fire types in Pokemon Moon so far. I tried a few different ones, learned their strengths and weaknesses, and finally settled on a team that I’m pretty happy with. It took some time and a lot of battles, but it was a fun journey! Hope this helps some of you guys out there!
