So, today I’m gonna share my experience messing around with Politoed in the game. I wanted to figure out the best moveset for this guy, ’cause, you know, gotta have that edge in battles.
First off, I spent a bunch of time reading up on what other folks are saying about Politoed. Seems like Bubble and Weather Ball are the go-to moves, with some pretty decent damage output. I saw some numbers like 11.83 DPS and 209.3 TDO, which, honestly, didn’t mean much to me at first, but it sounded good.

Then I started experimenting. I took my Politoed into a bunch of battles, trying out different combinations of fast and charge attacks. Bubble felt pretty solid as a fast attack – it’s quick and racks up energy for those charge moves.
- I tried out Hydro Pump first. It’s one of the stronger water-type moves. It hit pretty hard, but it felt a bit slow.
- Next up was Weather Ball. This one was interesting. It’s also a water-type move, and it seemed to charge up faster than Hydro Pump.
- I even messed around with Ice Beam, just to see how it would do against those pesky grass and dragon types. It was alright, but not my main focus.
After a whole lot of battling, I started to get a feel for what worked best. Bubble and Weather Ball really did seem like the strongest combo. They just felt smooth and efficient. Hydro Pump was strong, but I preferred the speed of Weather Ball.
My Conclusion
In the end, I think I agree with what I read online. Bubble and Weather Ball is the way to go for Politoed. It might not be the absolute best Pokemon out there, but with this moveset, it can definitely hold its own in a fight. It’s a fun Pokemon to use, especially in the Great League where its bulk comes in handy. At least, that’s how it felt to me. You might have a different experience, but hey, that’s the fun of these games, right? Figuring out what works for you.
