Alright, so I was playing Cyberpunk 2077, and you know how it is, right? You’re running around, exploring, shooting stuff, having a blast. But then there’s this thing that kept messing me up. It’s the double-tap to dodge. I kept accidentally dodging when I just wanted to move. It was driving me nuts! Every time I pressed a movement key twice, boom, I’d dodge. I didn’t want to dodge. It was super annoying, especially in fights. I just wanted to move normally, not do a fancy dance every time I tapped a key twice.
So, I thought, there’s gotta be a way to turn this off. It just can’t be that I’m stuck with this annoying feature. So, what did I do? I started digging around. First, I went through all the settings in the game, hoping there’d be a simple toggle somewhere. I looked and looked, but no luck. Seems like the game developers didn’t think anyone would want to turn off such a “helpful” feature, right?

Then I hit up the internet. I figured, I can’t be the only one bothered by this. There must be other people complaining about it and maybe, just maybe, someone found a solution. I started searching, reading forums, and watching videos. It took a while, but then I stumbled upon a post that talked about disabling double-tap dodging.
It turns out, you can turn it off, but it’s a bit hidden. Here’s what I found:
- First, open the game settings.
- Go to the “Controls” tab. There, you’ll find all the options for how your character moves and stuff.
- Look for an option called “Dodging on movement input keys” or something like that. I found it! This was the key to solving my problem.
- Turn that setting off. That’s it! It’s that simple. Now I could move without accidentally dodging!
After I turned it off, I went back into the game to test it out. And guess what? It worked! No more accidental dodging. I could finally move around normally without my character doing an unexpected dive every time I double-tapped a key. It was such a relief! Now, if I want to dodge, I just use the Left Shift key. Much better, right? So much more control.
I tried holding down Left Shift and pressing the movement keys, and I could dodge in any direction I wanted. It felt so much smoother and more natural. I was finally in full control of my character’s movements. No more unwanted surprises.
Honestly, it’s such a small change, but it made a huge difference in how I play the game. It’s so much more enjoyable now that I’m not constantly fighting with the controls. I can focus on the game itself, the story, the action, everything. I figured I’d share this with you guys because it really made my gaming experience so much better. If you’re like me and find the double-tap dodge annoying in Cyberpunk 2077, give this a try. It might just change the way you play the game, just like it did for me!
