Alright, guys, gather ’round, gather ’round. I gotta tell you about my latest adventure in MLB The Show. So, I’ve been grinding away in Road to the Show, right? And I was stuck on this team that, well, let’s just say we weren’t exactly seeing eye-to-eye. I’m hitting dingers, making diving catches, and stealing bases like it’s my job, but the team’s just not going anywhere. We’re losing more than we’re winning, and I’m starting to feel like I’m wasting my talents.
So, I’m thinking, “I gotta get outta here.” But how do you do that? In this game, it ain’t like real life where you can just waltz into the GM’s office and demand a trade. Nope. It’s all hush-hush, behind the scenes kinda stuff.

First, I tried being a good little player. I went to every practice, hustled every play, and even tried to be buddy-buddy with the manager during those little cutscenes where he’s giving you a pep talk. I thought maybe if I showed them I was a team player, they’d want to keep me around or, you know, trade me to a contender.
- Playing it straight: I was the model player, doing everything by the book.
- Boosting stats: I focused on leveling up my player’s abilities, hoping to become an undeniable asset.
- Winning games: I did my best to carry the team, thinking success might change things.
But nope, nothing. Crickets. I was still stuck on this team that was going nowhere fast. So, I decided to switch things up. I started acting like a total jerk. Skipping practices, arguing with the manager, basically being the kind of player you’d hate to have on your team. I figured, maybe if I made myself a problem, they’d be happy to ship me off somewhere else.
Then, out of the blue, my agent calls. He’s like, “Hey, you’ve been making some noise out there. You want out?” And I’m like, “Heck yeah, I want out! Get me on a winning team!” He says it won’t be easy, but he’ll see what he can do.
Next thing, before advancing to the next game, I changed my player’s position. I don’t know why I did this, it was a totally random thing. I have been a CF, but I changed to SS. And guess what? It was done. The next day, I got traded to a contender team!
Now, I’m not saying this is the guaranteed way to get traded in Road to the Show. It might be a total coincidence that I also changed my player’s position. But hey, it worked for me. So, if you’re stuck on a team you hate and want out, give it a shot. Become the biggest headache for your manager, and don’t forget that agent will call you, maybe wait for it. Oh, maybe try to change your position before advancing the game! You never know, it might just work. And if it does, you can thank me later.
What I learned:
- Be a good player is not always the only option: Sometimes, you gotta stir things up to get what you want.
- Your agent is your lifeline: When he calls, pay attention, it may be your ticket out.
- Position matters?: This is something new I learned, try to change it!
Alright, that’s my story. Now go out there and get yourself traded to a team that deserves you!
