Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this game, MLB The Show 23, and there’s this whole World Baseball Classic thing in it. I figured I’d give it a shot and see what’s up.
So, this whole thing was cooked up back in 2005. That’s like, ages ago! Apparently, Major League Baseball and the Players Association were trying to make this tournament happen for a while, like two years or something.

I jumped into the game, and the first thing I noticed was this World Baseball Classic celebration stuff. I could snag some top players for my Diamond Dynasty team. That got me hyped up, you know? There were some playlists on the march, not really sure what that’s about.
Building the Squad
Diamond Dynasty’s pretty cool, I guess. It gives you all these ways to play and earn stuff. I started messing around, trying to build up my squad. The game says there are over 25 new MLB Legends, which sounds awesome. I haven’t gotten to all of them yet, but I’m working on it.
Joining the Event
- I saw there was a World Baseball Classic event going on. So I jumped into that. There are rules, rewards, and you get to play against other people from all over the world. It’s pretty intense, to be honest.
- I also found this place online, a subreddit, where people talk about their experiences with the game. It’s mostly folks showing off their Diamond Dynasty teams or talking about their Road to the Show careers. I haven’t posted anything yet, still figuring things out.
My Experience So Far
So far, it’s been a mixed bag. The gameplay is pretty solid, but there’s a lot to learn. The Diamond Dynasty stuff can be a bit overwhelming, but I’m getting the hang of it. The World Baseball Classic event is fun, but tough. I’ve won some, lost some. It’s a grind, you know?
Overall Thoughts
I’m still pretty new to MLB The Show 23, but I’m digging it so far. It’s a deep game, and there’s a lot to do. I’m mostly focused on the World Baseball Classic stuff right now, but I might check out some of the other modes later on. We’ll see how it goes. I am still trying to get used to it and see if I can win more games.
