So, I’ve been playing a ton of Pokémon GO lately, and I really wanted to optimize my Hydreigon. This thing is a beast, but only if you have the right moves, you know? So I started messing around to figure out the best moveset for this bad boy.
First off, I caught a bunch of Deino. It takes forever to evolve them into Hydreigon, but it’s worth it. Once I had a few Hydreigons, I started experimenting with the moves. I used a lot of TMs, Charged and Fast ones, trying out different combinations.

- Bite: This Fast Attack seems pretty good, especially with that Fog weather boost.
- Brutal Swing: Now, this is a Charged Attack you can only get during Community Day events or by using an Elite Charged TM. It’s a bit of a hassle, but it does make a big difference.
I tried a few other Charged Attacks, too:
- Dark Pulse: It’s strong, but Brutal Swing just seems better overall.
- Flash Cannon: A Steel-type move. It’s okay, but not the best choice if you’re looking for pure damage.
- Dragon Pulse: It is not bad, but I still think Brutal Swing is slightly better.
After all that testing, I found that Bite and Brutal Swing is the way to go. This combo gives Hydreigon the highest damage output, especially when it’s foggy. And because Brutal Swing is a bit cheaper energy-wise, it lets you use it more often, which means more pressure on your opponent.
Oh, and one more thing: I noticed that having 15 attack IVs is super important, especially for raids. It makes a noticeable difference in damage. So, if you’re serious about using Hydreigon in PvE, make sure you get one with that max attack stat.
I also spent some time using Hydreigon in the Master League. It’s pretty strong there, too. The Bite and Brutal Swing combo works well in PvP, although you have to watch out for Fairy-types, those guys can take down your Hydreigon pretty easily.
My Final Take
If you want a powerful Hydreigon, go for Bite as the Fast Attack and Brutal Swing as the Charged Attack. It’s a bit of work to get that Elite TM, but trust me, it’s worth it. And don’t forget to look for that 15 attack stat! Hope this helps you guys out there. Happy hunting!
