Alright, let’s talk about Hydreigon in Pokémon Go. I’ve been playing around with this beast for a while, and I gotta say, figuring out the best moveset took some trial and error.
First off, Hydreigon is a Dark and Dragon-type, which is pretty cool, right? I started off by trying to get one with good IVs. Took me a while, I caught so many Deino that it wasn’t even funny.

Moves, Moves, Moves
Okay, so after I finally got my hands on a decent Hydreigon, the next step was figuring out the best moves. From what I gathered online, Bite and Brutal Swing seemed like the way to go. Bite is a fast move, and it charges up your energy pretty quick. Brutal Swing, on the other hand, is a charged move, and it hits like a truck. It’s a Dark-type move, so you get that Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB), which is always nice.
- Fast Move: Bite
- Charged Move: Brutal Swing
Community Day Exclusive
Now, here’s the catch with Brutal Swing – it’s a Community Day move. This means you can only get it during specific events or by using an Elite Charged TM. I got lucky, there’s a Community Day featuring Deino recently, so I evolved my best one during that time and got Brutal Swing. It’s a pain, I know, but trust me, it’s worth it.
Other Options
I did experiment with other moves, though. Dragon Pulse is a decent Dragon-type charged move, but it didn’t feel as powerful as Brutal Swing. Then there’s Dark Pulse, another Dark-type move. It’s alright, but again, Brutal Swing just outperforms it. I even tried Flash Cannon, a Steel-type move, just to see how it would fare against Fairy-types. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t amazing either.
Putting It to the Test
So, with my Hydreigon armed with Bite and Brutal Swing, I started using it in raids and battles. Man, this thing is a beast! It tears through Psychic and Ghost-types like they’re nothing. And in PvP, it’s a force to be reckoned with. That Brutal Swing really does some serious damage. It really helped when I had some trouble with Mega Gardevoir and Mega Lucario.
Final Thoughts
After all that experimenting, I’m pretty confident in saying that Bite and Brutal Swing are the best moves for Hydreigon. It’s a powerful combo that makes this Pokémon a top-tier attacker. If you’re lucky enough to have a Hydreigon with these moves, you’re in for a treat. Just remember, Brutal Swing is a Community Day move, so you’ll need to plan accordingly. Good luck, and happy hunting!
