Okay, so, I’ve been diving deep into the League of Legends scene lately, and I gotta say, the whole “split” thing they’ve got going on is pretty interesting. I started following it seriously this year, and it’s been a wild ride so far.
So, they kicked off the first split back in January. I remember it clearly because I made it a point to watch as many matches as I could. It felt like a fresh start, you know? New strategies, new team dynamics, it was all so exciting.

Then, around May, the second split started. By this time, I was hooked. I started to recognize the teams, the players, and their playstyles. It was fun to see how they evolved from the first split. Some teams that did well initially started to struggle, while others seemed to find their groove.
Now, here’s where it gets even more interesting. They just announced that the final split of the season, Split 3, will end on January 9, 2025. That’s a big deal because all the ranks achieved during this period will be locked in permanently. That’s right, this is the last section of Season 14, and whatever ranks we get are the ones we keep.
I’ve also been keeping an eye on the rewards. You get these rewards just by playing and progressing through the season. There are different tiers, and the more you play, the better the rewards. It’s a nice little incentive to keep grinding.
A New Format for 2025
And guess what? They’re changing the format for 2025. They’re introducing this new grouping system based on how teams did in the previous standings. I heard they’re going to have more best-of-five matches, which is great because those are always the most intense and fun to watch.
The LPL’s first split for 2025 is starting on January 12. That’s going to be a blast! I am looking forward to seeing the whole format. I think the new system is going to make things even more competitive.
They mentioned something about changing the map color slightly in each season to reflect different regions of Runeterra. I think it’s a nice touch, adds a bit of variety to the visuals, and keeps things interesting.
All in all, following the League of Legends splits has been a blast. It’s not just about watching the games, it’s about seeing the teams grow, the strategies evolve, and the whole community come together. I’m already pumped for what’s coming next in 2025, especially with these new changes they’ve announced. It’s going to be epic!
