Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get Muffy into my Animal Crossing island for a while now. She’s just so cool, with that gothic lolita style and her sisterly personality. I finally decided to just go for it and get an amiibo card.
Finding the Card
First off, I started looking around online, and wow, there’s a ton of places selling these things. Some were official Nintendo ones, others were handmade, custom ones. I read a few things about how the official ones can be kinda rare sometimes, and therefore a little bit pricey. Then I saw that some people make their own, and that you can get one that’s a pretty nice replica.

Making a Decision
So, I thought, why not try one of the handmade ones? I found a seller that had great reviews and the cards looked pretty good in the pictures. They said they were made to order, which was cool, it was always in stock. They also mentioned that they were made of PVC and the print was directly on the card, not just a sticker, which sounded durable, plus, they were way cheaper than the official ones. It looked like they’d work just the same as the real deal.
Ordering and Waiting
I placed my order and then came the hardest part… waiting! It took a little while since it was custom-made, but that was fine.
The Card Arrives!
Finally, the day came! The card arrived in the mail, and I was so stoked. It looked great, just like the pictures, and it felt pretty sturdy.
Using the Card
Now for the moment of truth. I grabbed my Switch and went to Resident Services. You have to use the Nook Stop terminal to invite a camper using an amiibo card. I followed the instructions on the screen, and it told me to tap the card on the right Joy-Con stick. And guess what? It worked! The game recognized the card as Muffy right away! I know it need to be scanned for 3 days to make her permanently move to the island.
Inviting Muffy
After scanning, the game asked if I wanted to invite Muffy to the campsite. Of course, I said yes! I was told to scan the card for 3 consecutive days to make her a permanent resident. I followed the instruction, scanned it at the ABD for 3 days. And she showed up on my island! It was that easy. I went and talked to her, and just like that, she was ready to move in.
Success!
